Central Library

Established in 1987, the Central Library at Maulana Azad College of Engineering And Technology, Patna. (MACET) is the heart of MACET's teaching, learning and research activities with access to most of the referred databases of the world. The fully-automated library is powered by Integrated Library Management System(ILMS) using KOHA Software with barcode technology. The primary mission of the Central Library MACET is to actively engage and enhance learning and research by providing a flexible and stimulating study ambience through seamless and Real-Time Access (RTA) to high quality information resources.
The Library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of Knowledge Enhancing Tools (KETs) for the students, faculties and the research community of the college. The Library Stocks Books, Print Periodicals, Newspapers etc. Additionally, it arranges classes, workshops or demonstrations of any of the above services for faculty and students.
The Library provides a host of User-Centric Services (UCSs) such as Periodicals , Reference Services, Book Bank Facility, User Orientation Service (UOS), New Arrival Alerts (NAA), On-line Reservation Service (ORS), Bibliographic Service, Photo-copying, Printing and Scanning, Ask-a-Librarian, and a Prompt Expert Support Service (ESS).

RULES & SERVICES

Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources.
No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
Using Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
Enter your name and sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering library.
Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
No student is allowed to enter the circulation area without the consent of the library staff.
Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises.
Silence to be maintained.

Sports

Games and Sports activities are essential for the students in order to enhance general health, sports skills, foster growth in leadership, and enhance sense of community and to maintain quality of life. At MACET, we offer innumerable sports opportunities to every student by organizing within college and inter college sports events. The College boasts of different sports facilities in the campus itself like badminton court, Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Cricket ground. There are a wide number of activities and programs available to students on campus. Each of these extracurricular activities has their own short and long-term benefits. Every year, the College is organizing various sports activities like Sports Week, Milan 2021, Saarang 2020.

The Laboratories

Engineering education is incomplete without laboratory practice. The overall goal of engineering education is to prepare students to practice engineering and in particular to deal with the nature of problems faced by society. The laboratory practice has been an important part of Professional and Engineering Undergraduate Education as a laboratory is an ideal place for active learning. Students learn in a real-world environment, function as team members, discuss the planning of experiments, and share ideas about the analysis and interpretation of data. Most engineering instruction took place in the laboratory and it demands the active use of knowledge and skill.

Scholarship

MACET offers scholarships for the deserving cum poor students. Scholarships are granted to them based on certain standards set by the college. The key objective of scholarship is to encourage and motivate deserving students to pursue further studies regardless of any financial constraint.

Bihar Kalyan Vibhag Scholarship

Welfare Department, Govt. of Bihar is providing Bihar Kalyan Vibhag Scholarships to Minority/OBC/SC/ST categories students pursuing Technical education in recognized college/Institution. For availing this scholarship, students must be domicile of Bihar and their family annual income should not be above 2.50 Lakhs. The details are available on the link socialwelfare.bih.nic.in

Student Credit Card Scheme

The Government of Bihar has introduced a great plan Student Credit Card System (BSCCS) under Mukh Mantry 7 Nishay Program. It was launched on October 2, 2016. To implement the BSCCS scheme, the government has set up Education Finance Corporation. Under this scheme, students can avail loans up to Rs 4 Lakhs from the bank. The government has decided to offer a credit card, which will not only fund their education, but also take care of their other key expenses while their studies are underway. Language Lab(Applied Sciences and Humanities Department)

Good Communication skills are indispensable for the success of any profession. Language laboratory plays a central role in the language learning process. MACET too boost of the state of the art English Lab with innovation tools like, corei3 processor system, headsets and microphones to assist the students with the most appropriate pronunciation. The laboratory collection is designed to assist learners in the acquisition and maintenance of aural comprehension, oral and written proficiency and cultural awareness. The language lab offers audio visual aids for both classics and modern orientation. This Hi-tech Language Laboratory allows the students to listen to model pronunciation, repeat and record the same, listen to their performance, compare with the model and do self-assessment. The lab focuses more on improving the basic skills i.e LSRW. Students from rural areas who are generally weak in English can have sufficient ear training in the language lab. It aims at confidence-building among students for interactions and presentations in English. The basic purpose of the lab is to provide students a platform to enhance English language skills, communication skills and to practice soft skills.

Mentoring System

As per the mandate of AICTE, Mentoring System is introduced in the college. All the faculties of respective departments are involved in this activity and they work as Mentor to their students (mentee). Mentor acts as an advisor and councilor to the assigned group of students. They provide all types of support and professional guidance to the students wherever they require. This strengthens the bonds between the teachers and students and helps in understanding the aspiration and problems of students. This system has been found to be very effective for the students in achieving success in their career.
